Sarah G. Harris
Stage Manager | Teacher | Producer
Hi there! Thank you for looking me up. My name is Sarah Harris and I am the Stage Manager of the hit original Broadway musical, Maybe Happy Ending, which won six Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Book of a Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, and Best Scenic Design of a Musical. (If you're currently seeing the show, enjoy!) I have been a part of the Maybe Happy Ending team since the beginning of its US journey with two-time Tony Award-winning director, Michael Arden, and longtime friend, collaborator, and Production Stage Manager, Justin Scribner.
It’s a gift to be a part of this community and create Broadway shows! I’ve had the pleasure of serving as the Stage Manager for The Heart of Rock & Roll, the Tony Award-winning Revival of Parade (starring Ben Platt & Micaela Diamond, directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Arden), and A Christmas Carol (starring Jefferson Mays). I was also an Assistant Stage Manager covering LOAs for the Tony Award-winning productions of Once On This Island and Come From Away after subbing on both shows in addition to subbing on The Wiz, POTUS, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and two National Tours of Hamilton (Philip and Angelica Companies). In addition to stage managing, I also teach Stage Management Methodologies I: Creating a Broadway Show at Columbia University’s MFA Stage Management Program. It is extraordinary to get to spend time with the next generation of stage managers! I welcome any opportunity to share what I’ve learned with students, young stage managers, teachers, and professionals alike. The world is a better place when we can work as one!
Over the last few years, I’ve done some exciting spinoffs: Skittles Commercial: The Broadway Musical during Super Bowl 2019, an Immersive Holiday Show with Target, the Live Captures of A Christmas Carol and Come From Away, several corporate events including the Paramount Upfronts, The Webby Awards, “Goalkeepers” with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and site-specific immersive theatre with The Forest of Arden. Within the past year, I have joined the Advisory Boards for the Broadway Green Alliance and Open Stage Project. Both of these organizations hold a special place in my heart and I am thrilled to be a small part of the positive changes made in theatre industry and beyond.
My experiences have taught me so much and I continue to learn every day! Each individual collaborator brings a unique magic and perspective into the room that we can all learn from. The combination of this and the art we create can challenge and move us in ways we never expect. As a stage manager, I hope to facilitate a creative environment that allows everyone in the room to be the best version of themselves and make something they’re passionate about and proud of.
If you’re a collaborator, student, teacher, manager, producer, creative— whatever! Feel free to reach out and connect. Click here if you’re looking to learn more about my story and how I became a stage manager.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
